Camas WR Trenton Swanson had a huge night in front of the Doc Harris faithful. The senior not only had 7 catches for 111 yards and had a touchdown, he also ran a punt and an interception back for two additional scores in the Papermakers 53-0 victory.
RB Beau Harlin only ran the ball 5 times for 15 yards, but he did open the games scoring in the first quarter on a 2 yard TD run. Late in the second quarter he added another rushing TD, this one from 4 yards out to put Camas up 33-0. Titan Brody again surpassed the 100 yard rushing threshold as he went for 101 yards on 9 carries and added a 23 yard rushing TD in the third quarter to send the game into a “running clock.”
The Papermakers defense posted their first shutout since week 9 of 2022, a 42-0 4A GSHL home win over Battle Ground. Kamiak only punted twice on the night, but Camas sacked the Knights QB 4 times, and intercepted 3 passes, while one of their punts was returned 64 yards by Swanson just before the half giving Camas the 39-0 halftime lead.
Swanson, in addition to the pick six and the punt return for a touchdown also caught a 6 yard TD pass from QB Jake Davidson in the second quarter, giving Camas a 26-0 lead. Davidson was an efficient 15 of 18 for 172 yards and 2 passing TD’s including a first quarter 11 yard scoring pass to WR Anthony Forner. Sr. QB Grady Milhoen pushed the score past 50 with his fourth quarter 3 yard TD run to finish the games scoring and put the final score at 53-0 in favor of the home team.
The Papermakers improved to 4-1 on the season with their fourth consecutive victory. Camas will once again be home at Doc Harris Stadium Friday for another nonleague football game, this time hosting Evergreen in a rivalry that dates back to 1924.
