The Camas Papermakers improved to 2-1 on the season following their second consecutive victory, a 21-7 home win over 3A Lincoln of Tacoma.
Last season Camas lost on the road at Lincoln of Tacoma 42-28, giving up nearly 300 rushing yards alone to the Abes QB. Friday night the Papermakers defense made amends in a big way, holding Lincoln to just 50 rushing yards on 25 carries. While Lincoln did manage to pass for 292 yards on the night, Camas only allowed 7 total points, a stark contrast from last seasons road loss. Beau Harlin led the defense with both a sack and an interception, leading to multiple key stops.
Jr. QB Jake Davidson was again impressive, completing 17 of 26 passes for 201 yards. Trenton Swanson hauled in 10 passes for 116 yards. Despite not throwing any touchdowns, Davidson kept the Abes defense lose enough for the Papermakers run game to both grind out the clock and account for all 3 Camas scores.
RB’s Titan Brody and Beau Harlin ran behind the impressive Papermakers Offensive Line who put together another impressive ground game, leading to all 3 Papermakers touchdowns. Harlin ran the ball 11 times for 31 yards, including TD’s in both the first and third quarters. Brody ran 10 times for another 43 yards, including a second quarter TD that put Camas up 14-0.
The Papermakers improved to 2-1 on the season with the win. Camas will be on the road nest Friday for another nonleague football game, this time visiting Kelso.
